Putting The “Sample” in Business Card Samples

We’re halfway there!  The weekend is in sight and I’m sure given the Winter doldrums that is an extremely welcome thought.  That said, we have something that might just prove to be the medicine to your mid-week blues.  At least that’s what I’m guessing the samples of medicine themed business card look like they can do.  I’m not entirely sure what is in them though.medicinecard

That’s right, look at these insanely creative business cards belonging to someone known as the Brain Doctor.  They have all of the pertinent information printed right on them and in the back is the all-too-familiar blister pack of little white pills.  While again, I can not be positive what’s In the blister packs, it does look medicinal.  I’m hoping for a sugar pill.  The fact that he’s a graphic designer makes me think it IS sugar, not some crazy brain medicine that you probably have no business taking.  That leads me to another idea, how cool would it be if you designed your blister packed medicine themed business cards with Smarties inside?!  Creative and fun!

Nevertheless, it just goes to show how far you can push the envelope and that no matter what your idea is, it’s most likely obtainable.  This guy had the idea to make his look like medicine samples and he found a way to make it happen.  What can you do?  What can you invent?  What can you decide to make great?  The sky is the limit, now start shooting for it!  Show us some of your best business cards, we can’t wait to see!

How Does Your Business Card Measure Up?

Writing a blog in this industry, we hear a lot of words like “measure up,” “stack up” and compare.  Everyone wants to know how their business card compares to those of other people in similar industries.  If they’re using the right kind of paper, if their ink is high enough quality, how they are cut, just about every aspect of the card can be dissected and analyzed.  They are all being stacked up against the competition.  The business card we just stumbled on most likely never has to worry about how they stack up against the competition, how they measure, and you know why?  Because they can actually measure how they measure up…literally.  ruler-card

Why?  Simple, take a glance above and you’ll have that question answered instantly.  Looks like Robert Gehring literally used a ruler, well 3 inches of one, and printed his details directly below the measuring lines.  In a word:  GENIUS.  I don’t know how long he’ll be able to keep this up, where he gets his sections of rulers or even if they all use the same 1-3 inches of the wood, but no matter what, these are some of the most inventive, creative and different business cards we’ve ever seen.  I have to say, we love seeing that and we love highlighting just how much you can do with a little thought power and a little attitude.

The bottom line:  When someone’s willing to go the extra mile like this on their business cards, you KNOW, for fact, that they’ll go the extra mile for you in whatever it is you need, whatever it is they do.  Think about this as you design something as seemingly small and simple as a business card.  Show how far you’re willing to go and chances are good people will believe you.

Craziest Business Card Yet: Meat Business Card

meat-biz-cardsOn this site we’ve gone over and highlighted a great deal of very interesting, very creative and extremely unique business card ideas.  We’ve gone over everything from plain cards with great design to wacky designs and even using strange materials to make your cards.  Today, however, I think we have quite possibly the oddest and most creative one yet.

That’s right, a bold claim, but considering the fact that today’s unique business card design is printed on something edible, yes EDIBLE, I think it’s a claim that won’t have trouble staying true.  Granted paper is “edible,” it’s not edible like meat, and folks, these business cards are printed on MEAT.  Yes, meat, as in beef jerky style meat.  The cards have to be vaccuum packed in order to actually last long enough to hand out, and your contact details are actually seared onto the slice with a 150 watt CO2 laser.  Wow.

So if you’re in the market for a business card that will absolutely set you apart, this might be the way to get it.  Word is they aren’t for sale yet, but if you check their website, they might be soon.  Check out the crazy video below, and enjoy your weekend!

3 More Mind-Blowingly Creative Business Cards

On this blog already, we’ve featured some of the most creative and unique business cards I’ve ever seen.  Each week, however, I stumble across even more creative ideas that make the previous week’s ideas look downright simple.  Considering the fact that ALL the unique business cards on this site that have been featured are unbelievably creative, that’s saying something.

lens-cards

Today, I have 3 more business card designs that continue to raise the bar and push the envelope for exactly what is possible when designing what will be your card, and your personal brand.  First up, and as a photographer I am particularly interested in this one, we have the camera lens shaped business card.  Instead of using focal lengths on the lens, it’s a phone number.  Genius, sheer genius.

lego

Second up, we have amazing Lego Business Cards.  Technically these are business “people” as they are actual Lego people printed with each person’s information.  If you’re in the toy industry or any industry that deals with children, these are amazingly creative and would be such a welcome change from the traditional card.  You’re not working in a traditional industry, why not flaunt it?!

coffee

Last, but certainly not least, are the coffee business cards.  Let’s face it, with how popular Starbucks is today, it’s hard to get ahead if you’re a coffee business owner, unless of course you’re supplying the beans.  That said, a quick way to set YOUR business apart is by offering up a creative, coffee cup shaped business card.  Talk about your instant impression.

There you have it, three more ideas that should get your creative juices flowing and help you to design something that perfectly sums up YOUR brand.  You only get one chance to make a great first impression, better make it last!  Remember, it doesn’t have to be all odd shapes and giant cards, OvernightPrints.com can help you make beautiful cards, with minimal effort!

Animated Business Card Design…WOW Factor.

Moving CardsOn Monday, we discussed and showed you an amazingly impressive business card design that involved more moving parts than a fake Rolex.  Today, we’re going to blow your mind again by showing you an Animated, Yes Animated, business card design.  While they’re in a different class than each other, the simple fact that someone out there had the creativity to design an animated business card is pretty cool.

While the idea itself doesn’t look extremely difficult, I still think it’s going to be a bit more expensive and a bit more time consuming than the vast majority of us will ever want to invest on a business card, it still just goes to show how inventive, creative and unique you can be if you want to set yourself apart from just about anyone else in your field.  The good news is this:  There are ways you can get equally creative with far less cost, check out some of the free business cards samples at OvernightPrints and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

At any rate, it’s amazing to see how a few simple layers can come together to form an impressive, and yes animated, business card.  I know one thing is absolutely certain, if I was in the market for a graphic designer and he or she handed me a flat business card that actually moved, I would most likely put them in a completely different class than anyone else, wouldn’t you?

Business Cards – Creativity is Key: Start Thinking!

When it comes to having an original, FUN and engaging business card, there is really only one good rule:  Creativity is Key.  The more creative you are, the more outside the box you think, and the more interesting you can make your card, the more your prospective clients will know, without a doubt, that you are a different kind of company.

Think of your business card as a first impression that can do one of two things:  Keep impressing, or help you be completely forgotten.  Don’t fall into the first category.  Think of it this way, I just found a business card of some Yoga Company, and I have to say, the simple design and layout of their business card makes me instantly want to deal with them, and choose their Yoga Business over any other.  All from a fun, whimsical and interesting business card.
    Check out the design:

Remember that next time you are thinking of your business.  Is your first impression a good one, or something that gets forgotten and tossed out with the rest of the cards that lack creativity?
